Messrs Craig Wilson Ltd Sold 71 Calves and Stirks with a demand outstripping supply. T Smith, South Kilbride Led the Calves with an Aberdeen Angus Bull at £1080 and a British Blue Heifer Calf at £980. Bullock Stirks Topped at £1700 for a pair of Aberdeen Angus’s from T & T Hamilton, High Cairn with Charolais Bulls to £1500 from A & T Shiells, East Doura, finally Topping the Heifers at £1290 was a Charolais from C & D Livestock, Newlands.

Heifer Calves (Top Price Per Head)

Limousin: £940 x2 South Kilbride, £700 and £690 Kilhenzie. Aberdeen Angus: £840 South Kilbride, 3750 and £680 x2 Kirkhill. British Blue: £980 South Kilbride, £950 Parkmill, £940 The Muir, £920 Parkmill. Charolais: £660 and £640 Kilhenzie.

Bull Calves (Top Price Per Head)

Limousin: £920 Parkmill and South Kilbride, £790 and £780 Parkmill. Aberdeen Angus: £1080 x2 South Kilbride. British Blue: £1040 x2 Kirkhill, £960 and £890 The Muir, £920 South Kilbride, £880 Kittochside. Charolais: £810 and £780 Kilhenzie. Black and White: £430 Auchinbay, £400 The Muir.

Messrs Craig Wilson Ltd sold 85 Prime and Cast Cattle at their sale in Ayr. Prime sold sharper again.

2 Young Bulls Averaged 361p or £1940.35

Top Price of the day was 420p for a Smart Limousin Cross Heifer from The Smith Family at North Boig and was purchased by Messrs J M Nisbet, Quality Butchers Sorn and Maybole.
