Dairy Cattle, Calves and Stirks

Messrs Craig Wilson Ltd sold 18 Dairy Cattle and 162 Calves and Stirks at our weekly sale. Dairy Cattle Topped at £2250 twice, both for In Calf Heifers from Messrs Paton, Auchleand and then off Messrs Chalmers, Muirlaught. Auchleand Averaged £2010 for 14 In Calf Heifers. Another Large show of 162 Calves and Stirks at our weekly sale with Small Calves still on the Milk selling to a Unbelievable trade however, Stirks would be slightly less money on the week.  Calves Topped at £1180 for a Strong British Blue Cross Bull off Messrs Vance, Low Barledziew and Heifers to £1000 for a British Blue Cross off the same home. Stirks Topped at £1900 for a Strong Aberdeen Angus Cross Bullock off Miss Ramsay, High Auchneil and Heifers to £1520 for a Limousin Cross off the same home.

Bull Calves (Top Price Per Head)

British Blue Cross: £1180 Low Barledziew, £950 x2 and £940 West Park, £910 Davidston, £900 Newlands and West Park, £860 Davidston and Blackpark, £840 Over Enoch, £750 x2 Auchinbay and Greenside. Aberdeen Angus Cross: £1020 Low Barledziew, £860 Blackpark, £810 Darnlaw, £740 Dormieston. Limousin Cross: £950 and £940 x3 Newlands, £760 Back O’Hill, £710 Dormieston. Charolais Cross: £960 and £820 Mossend. Black and White: £700 Newlands, £540 West Park, £500 Newlands, £400 Drongan Mains.

British Blue Cross: £1000, £940, £930 and £850 Low Barledziew, £850 Davidston, £820 Over Enoch and West Park, £800 West Park and Over Enoch, £760 x3 West Park, 3730 Auchinbay and Greenside. Aberdeen Angus Cross: £720 Blackpark, £690 Dormieston, £680 Kittochside, £660 Portencalzie. Limousin Cross: £770 and £730 Newlands. Charolais Cross: £940, £860 and £820 Mossend, Ayr.

8 Heifers Averaged 395.75p or £2280.53

2 Bulls Averaged 360.99p or £2409.60

Top Price of the day was 420p for a Smart Limousin Heifer from The Andrew Team at Rowanston.

Bullocks Peaked at 413p for a Limousin from The Smith Family at North Boig and was Purchased by Messrs W Frasers, Quality Butchers Stranraer.
