Sale of Prime Lambs and Cast Sheep

786 Prime and Cast Sheep sold at Newton Stewart’s Wednesday Sale.

548 Lambs sold to average 308p k/g or £137 per head.  Best fleshed lambs came to more money on the week with lean types harder to go due to the New Blue Tongue Rules, there is a limited outlet on Wednesday and they would be better sold on a Friday.  K Forsyth, Baltier Bungalow led todays trading selling a pen of heavy Texels Lambs at £180.  Top per kilo of 329p k/g went to smart Beltex from Sam MacTier at Boghouse.  Cast Sheep less money on the week with Ewes selling to £250 for Texels once again from Kerrin Forsyth with Texels.  Leading the  Tup trade at £200 from Bian Vance, Mid Skeog.
