Sale of Prime Lambs and Cast Sheep

708 Prime and Cast Sheep Sold at Newton Stewart’s Wednesday Sale.

569 Lambs were very much a two-tier trade with well finished Lambs regulary making £3 a kilo and up with leaner store types achieving in around 2.90p k/g up to a top of 320p k/g for smart Beltex from Mr A McCaig, Mount Pleasant with a top price per head of £167 went to heavy Beltex from Mount Pleasant and heavy Suffolks from B Vance, Mid Skeog.  The whole sale averaged 297p k/g.  Andrew Johnstonw, No2 South Balfern led the Ewes with Cheviot Mules at £190 and Scotch Mules at £190.
